Visit Beautiful & Historic San Marcos

Looking for a vacation spot close to home with loads of entertainment and summer fun? Visit beautiful and historic San Marcos.

Beat the sweltering Texas heat with a dip in the spring fed San Marcos River. Be sure to rent your river tubes from the San Marcos Lion’s Club.

The Lion’s Club Tube Rental and River Taxi are fundraisers which allow the Lion’s Club of San Marcos to give back to over 100 area charities. So float the river for two good reasons: giving back and having fun.

Spend an evening at the Texas Music Theater located in downtown San Marcos which guarantees live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Check out TMT’s calendar online for more information.

Enjoy a walk around the downtown San Marcos “square” where you’ll find coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants, bars, and even an old fashioned barber shop. Then stroll down Belvin Street to view Texas historic homes at their finest. Here are a few of our favorites.

While you’re in San Marcos be sure to dine at Palmer’s Restaurant and Bar. This San Marcos hot spot is well known for its beautiful shaded court yard, so request to be seated outside.

Here’s a sneak peak at what we had for dinner. Warning: these photos are guaranteed to make your tummy growl.
