Subscriber Feedback

Dear Texas LIVE,
I recently subscribed to the Texas LIVE Magazine. I found the publication in a public waiting area in College Station, Texas. The beautiful cover and the name TEXAS originally grabbed my attention to pick it up. What was inside is what convinced me to subscribe.
The articles were written in a very straight forward manner, provided great information without hype or over commercialization.  It informed us of things we either didn’t know about (Waco Mammoths) or had forgotten (Dickens on the Strand).  I really liked the story of the family tradition of making molasses.  The feeling I got from that issue was it is very comfortable and centered on learning more about TEXAS.
Why does this appeal to us?  I am a home schooling father of 4 and I am on the board of a Brazos County home school support group, Triumph, which sponsors educational field trips, an annual expo event in July, academic and social events, so we are always looking for something new to do or learn about; and we are very focused on hands on learning that expands our children’s experience.
I look forward to your next issue.
Best regards,
Jeff Hinton

Looking for more Information

I read your magazine that was part of the Houston Chronicle Sunday edition.  The article about the B&B in Wimberley with the recipe for her pancakes referenced “more recipes from Rosemary on our website” but I could not find them on the website….can you direct me to that information?

Thank you,

Mary – Houston

Praise of Texas LIVE!

I just received a copy of your magazine yesterday and really appreciated every one of the articles. I actually sat down intermittently throughout the day and read it cover to cover! I was pretty much born and raised here in Texas, and the daughter of a die-hard Texan father who never let us pass a historical marker without stopping, or miss an opportunity to sample everything from barbeque, to watermelons… given the chance. I live in Houston, so your article about Monica Pope caught my attention first… since my family is obsessed with food! – Tricia Orsak Georgiou - Houston

LOVE TEXAS LIVE! Please tell me more . . .

Loved your magazine!  The only suggestion I have is to include a map with distances – I have no idea where many of these places are.   Great Job!! – Jane A. –Houston

I love your magazine! You make all things Brenham and surrounding areas so interesting. And there are always locals and places we’ve never known about thanks to you! Thankyou for a job well done. I have every issue and will continue to subscribe indefinitely!

Is it possible to get back copies of your magazine? I’m interested in the one that had an article about Jim Helms in New Dubina and his western town.

Hi Texas LIVE!

I am the head cook for a Ducks Unlimited BBQ cook off in College Station, TX this weekend. I have a copy of your rib recipe from Aug 2008. Is there any way you could send my team back copies of the magazine to have for the competition? – Mike B. College Station, TX

A possible article for your magazine, which I think is wonderful, is about a couple of Texas A&M graduates and their parents who have taken 52 acres and an old farm house and barn and turned it into a beautiful horse ranch over the past nine years. . . – Doug Spillars
